FSP Universal Notbook Adaptor, Laptop Charger, 90W. 19V. NB V90
How to choose the correct laptop adapter:
There is no need to purchase an adapter from your original brand. They are more expensive than a generic replacement. To choose the correct replacement adapter, a few things must be checked:
Output Voltage: The voltage of the new adapter MUST MATCH the original voltage. The Voltage required can be checked on the original adapter and laptop labels. Voltage deviation should not exceed 5%.
Polarity: All our Laptop Adaptors have a POSITIVE POLARITY. (Inside Positive / Positive tip), Outside Negative / Negative Barrel). The Polarity of your old and new adapter MUST MATCH. The Polarity logo can be checked on the adapter label. (see second picture).
Connector: There are a few sizes of DC tips available. The connector size MUST MATCH your laptop. Connectors are measured in millimeters (mm). For example a 5.5×2.5mm connector has a 5.5mm Outer diameter and a 2.5mm Inner diameter. (see third picture)
Output Current: Measured in Amps (A), it MUST MATCH OR EXCEED the original value. For example a laptop requiring 3.4A will work fine with a 4.7A adapter.
Output Power: The output power (watt) is obtained by multiplying the Voltage (V) by the Current (A). For example a 19V, 4.74A adapter has an output power of 90W. Just like the output current (A), the power MUST MATCH OR EXCEED the original power value. The laptop will only draw the power it requires. For example a 65W laptop will work fine with a 90W adapter.
